The Couple: Marissa & Justin
August 20, 2022
I had to check my calendar as I started writing to confirm that is was in fact well over a year ago since Marissa and I first spoke on the phone. What started originally as an inquiry for an engagement session, quickly turned into a wedding booking even though Marissa knew I was over 3 hours away from her wedding location.
This was one of the few weddings I’ve done where I had not met the bride and groom before the wedding. Due to the aforementioned distance, meeting was to wait until the wedding day. But can I just tell you, I have never felt more welcome among strangers than I did this weekend.
And it’s not just because of the friendly smiles, the casual conversations, or the ride I had to bum with Lise (Marissa’s mother). No, it was the fact that I had been so anxious about potentially being away from my 3 month old son for our first overnight out of town, that when I told Marissa, “I think my husband is going to come along with the baby,” she not only recommended places to stay, things to do, but invited the boys to hang at the reception and enjoy dinner.
Marissa & Justin, the love that surrounds you is so evident. And I hope these photos touch the tip of the iceberg in reflecting that… or maybe the fact that setting up only 50 ceremony chairs requiring your extra 100+ unexpected guests to stand will make it clear. Congratulations you two!
