I will always remember our first session together over 4 years ago at Long Arm Dam in Hanover. Ellie, you wore a pink dress and the sunset that evening was the most perfect backdrop for your maternity photos.
Four years ago you were expecting that sweet little Savannah. Since then, another maternity session, two newborn sessions, several family minis, and now another newborn session, I have watched this little family of yours grow.
I will always remember that first session together, because now from experience, I know what it’s like to look back on life before kids – to look back at photos of yourself and think just how naive you really were – how in some sense, you didn’t even really know what life was yet.
In some ways, it’s so easy to miss that life. It was simple, a slower pace, a bit quieter, but also… so empty. It was void of this indescribable love that now fills your home and your rocking chair (see photo below). It doesn’t mean that there aren’t hard days, that there aren’t days where you wish it was quieter or a bit more simple, but I truly believe that it’s those hard days that make the great days so great.
Becoming a parent is the hardest thing I have ever done, but that is exactly why it is also the most amazing thing I’ve ever done at the same time.
And to this beautiful family, you’re doing it for the third time! And I cannot wait to watch these little ones grow up.
