The Couple: Anna & Joey
October 1st, 2022
Not too often do I photograph weddings of couples who I have never met before – typically we have an engagement session before hand which gives us an opportunity to get to know each other before the wedding, but in the case of Joey and Anna, our first meeting was when I walked in the Parish house next to the church to find Anna at the top of the stairs… glowing.
To say someone’s persona is contagious is to describe Ann-Marie. As we climbed the stairs, we heard the voices and saw the smiles of her sisters and bridesmaids, all sharing in the true excitement of what was to come in just a few minutes — the ceremony.
With not much time before it was time to walk down the aisle, we watched as Anna got in her dress and headed down the staircase to share a private moment with her soon to be husband, Joey. The two shared the most beautiful prayers together and I may have had to step in just after their exchange to be sure Anna didn’t peek over her shoulder at Joey through the glass door.
Although I feel as though I could write a several page post sharing the details of this day, I’ll let the images speak for themselves. With family as the center of this day and the dedicated union of their marriage, Ann & Joey, you are so so very blessed in so many ways.
And for fun, scroll below to see a group shot of all of Anna’s family that was in attendance. Yes, I only said Anna’s family… all 60 (or more) of them! As Anna’s grandmother walked back up the hill after the photo, she was sure to tell me that she has 38 grandchildren, and 42 great-grandchilden – Momma you are amazing!
